Treasury Analyst

Job Description:Cathy McGarry
My job is very project oriented which provides a challenging and interesting perspective to my job on a daily basis. Recently, I worked with a team to implement an electronic payables program in our organization and currently converting to a new investment reporting program, setting up a retail lockbox for our patient payments from a wholesale lockbox and updating our merchant processing program. I also work with debt compliance, investment analysis and property insurance reporting. I enjoy working with people to reach our treasury goals. I also like the detail analysis required for my job. Each day I have the opportunity to learn something new.

Getting to Know You:
I am married with three children, two girls and one boy. We are actively involved in sports from basketball to travel softball and baseball. My children are also involved in scouts and I am the committee chairperson for my son's Cub Scout pack.

Neighborhood News:
I have been a resident of Wheaton for over 12 years. My neighborhood borders the Prairie Path on one side and Herrick Lake Forest Preserve on the other side. There are several areas to go bike riding, walking and golfing. It is a close neighborhood where the neighbors often get together for cookouts, campfires and various other social activities.

Down Time:
In my free time, I attend Jazzercise classes, read, ride bikes, go to plays and watch sports. I also enjoy traveling with my family and am always looking for new and exciting places to visit. My favorite places to travel to is London and Ireland.

Fun Facts:
Most people would not know that I am avid genealogist. I also use to play racquetball competitively and placed 2nd in a city tournament. On a musical note, I played the accordion as a young girl.

Back to Business:
I have been a guest of TMAC for almost 3 years and just recently became a member. I have met some wonderful people thru TMAC and heard some great speakers. I also had the opportunity to attend the Windy City Summit a few times. Thanks to the support of my TMAC colleagues, I became a Certified Treasury Professional last year.

Joining TMAC:
I heard about TMAC from my boss, who was not able to attend a meeting and I attended in his absence as a guest.
