Carol Woodbury
carol.a.woodbury@accenture.com
Accenture, Treasury Specialist

Job Description:

I work for Accenture (formerly known as Andersen Consulting), a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company serving clients in 120 countries. I've worked here for 20 ½ years, all in Treasury, and I've seen a lot of changes over the years. When I started there were no computers, everything was done manually. Today everything is done through a Treasury workstation and bank platforms. What a difference a few years makes! We've also gone from a decentralized Treasury to a centralized one with three Regional Treasury Centers. When Andersen Consulting split away from Arthur Andersen in 2000, I was the Supervisor of Operations and assisted in our transfer to Andersen Consulting and to another physical office space. Over the years I've been involved in the day-to-day cash operations, the centralization project and various other special projects. I'm currently responsible for the bank documentation, special projects and am one of three System Administrators for all of our Treasury systems. We are now moving forward to implement SWIFT and a new Treasury system in which I will be heavily involved. It will be a new challenge and one I'm looking forward to.

Getting to Know You:

I grew up in LaGrange Park in a block where everyone knew everyone and looked out for each other. Many of the families would get together for parties and barbecues at each other's home and the kids would all play together: games like hide-and-seek and baseball. I got married, moved to Rockford where we lived and raised our two daughters for eleven years, then moved to Portland, Oregon. Two years later, jobless due to a recession that severally affected the state, we moved back here. My husband Woody currently sells augmentative devices to special needs children and handicapped individuals which assist in communicating with others. We have four granddaughters who range in age from 13 to 5. With their busy activity schedules we don't see them as often as we'd like to but have great fun when we do get together.

Neighborhood News:

We currently live in LaGrange Highlands, a great place to live. The homes have large lots so you don't feel like you're living on top of your neighbor. There are a lot of trees, little traffic and a feeling of living in the country; however, we're within 10 minutes of three major expressways and the train so it's easy to get anywhere.

Down Time:

I enjoy reading, watching movies and attending plays.

Joining TMAC:

I have been a CCM/CTP for several years. I was a member of the AFP and have attended several Windy City Summits. I had attended a couple of TMAC meetings as a guest and, over time, decided that I liked the idea of belonging to a local organization where I could meet other Treasury professionals, do some networking and learn more about Treasury. Other than the Windy City Summit, there isn't a lot of training available here related to Treasury. I was finally convinced to join last year and have enjoyed the short time I've been a member.
