Perspectives on Investing Cash Balances

Market trends and recent regulatory changes have made cash investing increasingly complex.  The discussion will open with a review of the challenges institutional cash investors have continued to face investing and diversifying their cash holdings a year after the implementation of SEC money market fund reform.  Europe’s recently announced approach to money market fund reform and potential impacts will also be highlighted.  The session will include a discussion with several industry practioners/specialists who will provide their perspectives about how they are managing their cash portfolios and issues all cash investors ought to be aware of.

The session will be led by Scott Wachs, Global Head of Liquidity Product at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Scott Wachs, Executive Director, is Global Head of Liquidity Product at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. 

He is responsible for the management, strategy, development, delivery and marketing of short term investment management products including money market funds, ultra short funds and separate accounts.  Scott joined Morgan Stanley in 2014.  He has over thirty years of financial services experience.  Scott received a MBA in Marketing from the New York University Stern School of Business and a BA in Economics from Tufts University.
