TMAC MONTHLY MEETING December 12, 2024

PRESENTATION

Critical Issues for Treasury Management Professionals in Acquiring Software
and/or Computer Systems for Your Business Team

  • This presentation will discuss the importance of developing a disciplined approach to the computer software and systems contracting process. This includes why the process needs to consider both the big picture and the underlying details when aiming to acquire the technology instead of a lawsuit.
  • We will analyze case studies to help you learn about the computer contracting environment. This includes some issues and concepts that are critical considerations in these computer contract transactions. One example is the ADR provision – this provision may not seem like much at the outset of the relationship, and during the negotiations and drafting of the contract(s), but if it is triggered it will be very important to the dispute resolution process.
  • We will discuss why the Treasury Management Professional should have a seat at the table in contracting for computers and software that impacts their work.
