Erin Scardina, CTP, Sr. Global Treasury & Finance Manager, Corelle Brands LLC

Erin, a Chicago native, has worked within the treasury industry for 13+ years.  Currently she works at Corelle Brands LLC, a global leader in housewares.  Corelle has the market leading position in manufacturing glass dinnerware, bakeware, storage, and prep-ware with over 70% of net sales from Corelle, Pyrex, and Snapware. Erin supports the Treasurer of Corelle in servicing and managing borrowings under the asset-backed lending facility and other forms of borrowing such as equipment leasing.  Erin is also the chair for the Scholarship Committee at TMAC.

Tell us about your role at Corelle and what a given workday may look like for you?

I am responsible for the global cash positioning, cash forecasting and other cash and borrowing projection models to improve working capital. I manage domestic and international banking, foreign exchange trading and hedging program, and the preparation of borrowing base certificates. In addition, I am responsible for analyzing bank fees, administration of credit card programs, and overseeing property and liability insurance renewals.  I have two direct reports, one Treasury Analyst and one Accounts Payable Supervisor.

What landed you in Treasury Services?

I worked my way through college as a bank teller, so when I was first introduced to Treasury Management at Northern Illinois University, it was a perfect fit.

Why did you join TMAC?

I joined TMAC for Treasury networking & education; however, the friendships I have made keep me coming back.  I value the friendships and I find the advice on work related matters is priceless.

What bit of advice would you give new TMAC members?

The membership is entirely what you make it!

Lastly, what is your “go to” downtime activity or hobby to take your mind off work?

I always go to the gym after work to release some built-up energy and I am a big fan of reading science fiction and fantasy. Besides reading, one of my favorite pastimes with friends is to head to the movies! It’s even better when the movie is an adaptation from one of my favorite books. I am especially looking forward to the next attempt at Frank Herbert’s Dune!

Do you want to share any fun facts about yourself?

I completed the Chicago Marathon two times, I have traveled as far as Japan, and I am a proud mother of three cats!
